Project: Sharp Hospital - ACC
Consulting Engineer: Randall Lamb Associates
Mechanical Contractor: University Mechanical
Scope of Work:
CMS worked with Randall Lamb Associates to design the air handling system for the Sharp Hospital Ambulatory Care Center. The total air quantity supplied by the four Energy Labs, Inc. custom air-handling units for this project is over 149,000 cfm.
For the air handling system design, we used Energy Labs, Inc. custom air handling units with direct driven plug fans and variable frequency drives to design a space and energy efficient system, which also provided excellent acoustic performance. In addition, humidifiers were used which fit directly into the air-handling units to provide precise control to the critical areas of the hospital. The units were also provided with a layer of gypsum board in the floors of the air-handling units to provide a reduction in the sound, which otherwise would be radiated through the roof.
