Project: San Ysidro Border Station
Consulting Engineer: K.M.A.
Mechanical Contractor: First Company
Scope of Work:
Known as the busiest port of entry in the world serving more than 500 commercial vehicles on a single day, expansion of the existing facility was necessary to maintain efficient border crossing services. DMG (now CMS) worked with the U.S. General Services Administration and K.M.A. engineers to provide (2) 20,000 CFM custom rooftop package units.
For the rooftop package unit design, we utilized Energy Labs’ technical expertise in air handling unit and refrigeration systems to design high efficiency custom rooftop package units. To meet the stringent energy and acoustical requirements, plug fans with variable frequency drives were provided. Technical Systems Inc air-cooled condensing units were mounted, pre-piped and wired to the unit structural steel “C” channel bases. Each unit was factory run tested prior to shipment to the project site.
